When a tooth is lost, we usually have two options. We can make a bridge, or we can place an implant. The pros and cons are different in each case.
Making a bridge means that we have to influence the adjacent teeth and in long term usually aesthetic problems are created due to absorption of the ridge, cavities formation and sometimes tooth fracture.
With implants, the adjacent teeth remain as is and an implant is placed to replace the missing tooth. Nevertheless the implant placement is not always feasible. A careful examination and experience of the surgeon to achieve the desired effect.
